It's a nickname I haven't heard since I lived on Woodbury Lane, where the houses were pretty, but the secrets? I'm glad I happened upon such a talented, promising author, and I look forward to reading the next book. What she didn't plan on was walking into a covert ops mission - or being wrapped up in the hard-muscled arms of Rafe Ortega.

Second chances, heart pumping action, moments so heartbreaking it will make you scream at the book (and maybe at Miss Rivers a bit too) Sexy scenes so hot you will want to melt, and an ending soooooo good you'll be flipping the pages or swiping franticly at your kindle because you wish there was more.

This is very different from what I usually read but its a nice change of scenery and fits perfectly with this story, considering it threw me off for a few chapters. A born and raised Carolinian, Greer says “y’all”, the occasional “bless your heart” (when necessary), and feels comfortable using legal jargon in everyday life. Heart wrenching and uplifting, making you red hot and skin-tinglingly cold in turns, this really is a complex and multifaceted book. But when her past collides with her present, it gets harder to believe that Jason is “just a client. But when a series of crimes occur in town, he comes face-to-face with the woman whose name was apparently as fake as her death.

A sucker for reality TV, New Girl, and scary movies in the daytime, Greer admits to being a messy eater, ruiner of shirts, and does NOT share food or wine.

Honestly the writing wasn’t too bad and I didn’t feel our main love interest was toxic which is a usual concern for these kinds of books. Juliet, the FL, is much more likeable, super smart, working as a defense attorney, she's been watching out for Jason's sister while hes been gone. An absolutely ridiculous plot line (and it was pretty plot heavy) but I don’t mind, we got the good stuff peppered in there if you know what I mean. You'll be turning page after page through suspense, murder, romance and those 18+ scenes as you try and figure out who is trying to frame Jason for his missing sister. Just listening and hearing the voices come to life, is amazing and they sound exactly what I thought they would.I did find this book a little hard to get into at first with the writing style, but once I did I loved it! Dominic Hardy might be an award-winning architectural engineer with fancy degrees and considerable accolades, but he doesn’t know a thing about baking. This book immediately drew me in and kept me on the edge the entire time with the suspense and twisting of the story. The clock is ticking and someone is determined to pin this on Jason and bring him down for the fall, but the question remains as to who would do this and why?
